Truro’s Hard-to-Recycle Collection Points

Have you ever wondered what to do with those empty crisp packets, spent biros or toothpaste tubes and other hard-to-recycle items? Then look no further for starters than the following easy-to-access collection points serving the Truro area.

These points are offered by a range of organisations in conjunction with hard-to-recycle specialists Terracycle, and most use the funds raised to support charities or community groups of their choice. All the materials listed here have dedicated boxes on site (except Truro Fire Station).

All the above have easy-to-spot dedicated collection boxes on site – the exception being the Truro Fire Station who advise donors to “come around to the back of the station and leave crisp packets next to one of the back doors. Mark the bag ‘crisp packet recycling – send to Service HQ’ then that will make sure no one thinks it’s a bag of rubbish“!

Note: If you are planning a visit to any of the above it is recommended you CHECK the opening times first. Schools are often open during term-time only, while Oak House Dental Surgery is closed Thursday afternoons and Fridays

The above list is an initial selection of hard-to-recycle items, but anyone wanting to check out all the Free Recycling Programmes offered by Terracycle can visit their website https://www.terracycle.com/en-GB/brigades where the most local collection points on offer can be found.

There are other hard-to-recycle boxes popping up locally to meet public demand for more recycling, so another list is planned to follow in due course.

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!
