Hard-to-Recycle Materials – Truro Area Update 2026

Transition Truro has now updated its Hard-to-Recycle Guide for the Truro area which can be viewed here

New entries include cork wine stoppers, medicine and vitamin blister packets, pet food packaging, and water filters with one notable addition: plastic toothpaste tubes are also now accepted in the kerbside household recycling collection service for recycling (red bag) in addition to other collection points for oral care products.

It is hoped that sometime this year more currently hard-to-recycle plastic packaging, along with drinks cartons (tetrapaks) will be added to the waste items which can be recycled at the kerbside – watch this space for more information!

Note: the Hard-to-Recycle Guide for Truro can be read in conjunction with Transition Falmouth’s local circular economy Guide “Too Good to Waste” – which includes many repair, reuse and recycling options across the Truro, Falmouth and Penryn areas. Suggestions for additional entries always welcome, or to report any changes/corrections please use this form (links to Transition Falmouth website)
