To Compost or not to Compost?

Feock Parish, which lies to the south of Truro, publishes a bi-monthly parish magazine, which carries a wide variety of subjects of interest to local residents and often a wider audience. One such resident is Transition Truro member, Phil Pearce, who contributes articles from time to time on environmental issues, which are then made available to Transition websites in both Falmouth and Truro.

One of the latest is entitled “To Compost or not to Compost” which looks at the world of home composting and highlights some of the issues around items which carry labels such as “compostable” or “biodegradable”. You can read the full article on the Transition Falmouth website here https://www.transitionfalmouth.org.uk/wp/2020/06/to-compost-or-not-to-compost/ and it is planned to follow this up with a piece next month on what happens to the green garden waste deposited at our local Recycling Centre or collected from the kerbside.
