Growing our Own

Transition Truro has teamed up with Victor Barry of Cornwall Heritage Farming and Cornwall Horsepower in the pursuit of a Community Supported Agriculture scheme.

Community supported agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between farmers and the local community, providing mutual benefits and reconnecting people to the land where their food is grown.

Such a scheme fits in perfectly with the transition philosophy of re-skilling and relocalisation and has advantages for the grower, the consumer and the environment.

Victor Barry uses horses to work the land, thus maintaining the integrity and fertility of the soil and keeping carbon emissions to a minimum.
